Ms. Tara Manick
Meet Tara Manick – M. Mgt (dist.), M.Sc. Eng, B.Sc. (Hons), LLB (Hons), PMP (2008), CEM (2015), R. Eng
Ms. Manick has over 20 years of experience in Electrical and Computer Engineering, both in Trinidad and Tobago and in Canada and has worked in thirteen (13) professional positions of increasing responsibility. Ms. Manick has developed experience and competence in Leadership and General Management, and proficiency in Cost & Efficiency Improvement, Organisational Transformation, Business Development, Stakeholder Management, Corporate Planning, Telecommunication Operations, Project Management, Industrial Relations, International Marketing, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Communications, Security and Surveillance, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency solutions, Customer and Account Management.
Ms. Manick has served on the boards of the IEEE Board Trinidad and Tobago Chapter and the Project Management Institute, Southern Caribbean Chapter. She was a member of several international professional bodies and was an Industry Consultant to the University of the West Indies (UWI), Electrical and Computer Department.
She graduated with a B.Sc. Degree with honors in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of the West Indies (UWI) in 1996 and went on to attain a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Communication Systems) from the UWI in 2008 and a M.Sc. Management with Distinction from Arthur Lok Jack in 2016. During her professional life, Ms. Manick also earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Degree with honors from the University of London in 2013, a Project Management Certificate (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in 2008, a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certificate from Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) in 2015 and a Wireman License from Electrical Inspectorate (T&T).
Apart from working as a professional, prior to attaining her degree, Ms. Manick worked in several private organizations and in the Government Civil Service.
Mr. Larry Clark
Lawrence (Larry) Clark is the principal of Sustainable Performance Solutions LLC (SPS), a South Florida-based engineering firm whose practice is limited to energy and sustainability consulting. He served as Director of Corporate Business Development at Hill York and was actively engaged with its Hygreen Energy Solutions group from its launch in early 2008. His previous experience includes such diverse assignments as President and Vice President at MEPCO (formerly Dunham Division of Dunham-Bush); and Regional Manager at Vapor Power division of Westinghouse Air Brake.
Mr. Clark is a graduate engineer (B.S.E.E.), a certified Green Globes Professional, a LEED AP with O+M specialty credential, a Certified Commercial Energy Auditor, a Florida Water Starsm Commercial and Institutional Certifier and a Qualified Commissioning Process Provider (QCxP). He has had more than a dozen-and-a-half HVAC and energy related articles published and is a frequent presenter and lecturer on central energy plant optimization, metering/submetering and advanced ventilation strategies. He also writes the bi-weekly “Clark’s Remarks” blog for HPAC Engineering and is a member of various professional organizations including ASHRAE, IEEE and USGBC South Florida (2011-2012 chair of Broward Green Schools Committee). In addition, he serves on the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) Education Review Team, BOMA Florida Energy Committee, the City of Pompano Beach Recycling & Solid Waste Committee, HPAC Engineering’s Editorial Advisory Board and the Smart Growth Partnership Board of Directors.
